Houses on Hare

Backyard Details

The rear outdoor environment at Houses on Hare is designed as a private, functional extension of the internal living spaces, balancing landscape structure with usable amenity. A central lawn area provides open, low-maintenance green space, framed by structured planting and layered garden beds to create visual depth and natural screening between boundaries.

Stepping stone pathways establish clear circulation through the landscape while maintaining a minimal visual footprint, reinforcing the clean architectural language. Perimeter planting incorporates a mix of hedging and drought-tolerant species, delivering privacy, wind buffering, and reduced ongoing maintenance suited to Australian conditions.

A dedicated outdoor seating zone is integrated with a curved built-in bench and recessed fire pit, forming a defined gathering space that enhances year-round usability. This element anchors the backyard visually while supporting practical outdoor living and entertaining.

The overall design prioritises simplicity, durability, and spatial clarity, ensuring the outdoor area complements the contemporary architecture of the residences while remaining highly functional for everyday use.
